Have you been saving those cherished T-shirts hoping to make a quilt someday? Here is your chance!
This will be your opportunity to create that quilt for someone special or maybe save those memories for yourself. The completed project will measure 52 x 52 inches. For those of you that want your quilt larger you will need to contact Fab Lab ICC for special instructions. No projects over 12 t-shirts please.
Included in the class will be 6 hours of instruction over 2 evenings. Stabilizer for the T-shirts is available for purchase at Fab Lab ICC. If you choose to use stabilizer other than what is recommended or available for purchase, your quilt may not turn out at the level of quality you expect.
You will need to bring:
1. 9 T-shirts, the logo on the t-shirts must fit into a 13.5 x 13.5 inch space. This measurement will allow for seams. Please do not cut your t-shirts out prior to class.
2. 1 yard of fabric for the outside border
3. 3/4 yard of fabric for sashing around the blocks
4. 1 fat quarter (18 x 21 inch) for the corner blocks
5. A neutral color thread
6. Please make sure your sewing machines are in good working order with a new 90/14 size needle.
7. Rotary cutter with a new blade
8. Seam ripper
9. 12.5 x 12.5 inch ruler if you have one
You may bring food and/or beverage to sustain you during class sessions.
If you have need for a sewing machine, fabric, or supplies please reach out to Fab Lab ICC for resources.
